Our History
Jack Bertrand (1866 - 1942) and Olsen Bertrand (1869 - 1940) were born on the outskirts of Marseille in southern France. By the age of 18, Jack Bertrand inherited a carriage manufacturing factory from his deceased father who passed away in a labor accident. Five years later (1889), the two Bertrand’s brothers established Jack & Olsen (Jack Olsen) brand which manufactured products from rubber, plastics, steel and wood.
Over the past generations, up to now, Jack Olsen has become a company operating in the areas of Rubber Processing, Kitchen equipment, Children toys, Hand tools and Personal Protection Equipment.
Historical milestones:
1889 | Establishing Jack & Olsen (Jack Olsen) brand specializing in manufacturing rubber and wooden products. |
1914 | Being influenced by World War I, taking part in manufacturing military equipment for the army. |
1915 | Establishing shoe, helmet manufacturing workshop |
1916 | Signing contract with French army to be one of three companies manufacturing military equipment for French army. |
1936 | Setting up laboratory to research about anti-toxic clothing to serve production and army. |
1948 | Taking part in manufacturing Personal Protection Equipment. |
1952 | Splitting the area of personal protection equipment production, and establishing Jack Olsen Safety Company |
1954 | Establishing company manufacturing Kitchen equipment and Children toy. |
1965 | Establishing subsidiaries in Germany, United Kingdom |
1979 | Joining North America market |
1982 | Joining global market |
2001 | Establishing hand tools manufacturing factory |
2003 | Changing the company’s name into Jack & Olsel Global |
